After a decade of leading Edinburgh-based demand response aggregator Flexitricity through its start-up phase and subsequent growth, the company’s chief executive Ron Ramage has made the personal decision to move on to a new challenge. Ron joined Flexitricity in 2009 and has supported the business to achieve its market leading position.

Ron commented: “I am leaving the company in a very strong position and in capable hands. I have no doubt that Flexitricity will continue to prosper. The value of flexibility is growing and Flexitricity is in the prime position to fully monetise that opportunity for its customers.  Personally, I will remember the ten years with Flexitricity very fondly and I’m looking forward to moving on to the next stage of my career.”

Founder and chief strategy officer Dr Alastair Martin commented: “Ron will be missed as a great colleague and a friend. He leaves behind an exceptional legacy and we all wish him every success in his future endeavors.”

In October 2018 Flexitricity launched its groundbreaking new energy supply service and opened up the Balancing Mechanism market to energy users and distributed generation. Following the launch, the company has experienced unprecedented growth.

The demand response pioneer has also invested into developing innovative projects to ‘jumpstart the energy revolution’, including a vehicle-to-grid system monetizing flexibility in solar EV charging stations and a smart local energy systems project that will deploy a number of innovative technologies.
