Role: I lead on Flexitricity’s work to ensure energy policies, regulations and market designs accelerate the deployment of new flexible energy opportunities, and to ensure that Flexitricity is at the forefront of monetising these opportunities for our Energy Partners.

What’s the best thing about working in the Energy Industry?:

Energy policy is massive, complicated, a huge cost for most people and businesses, and a substantial contributor to climate change. Working every day with people who are making that better is really gratifying, particularly as we see concrete changes so that flexibility becomes a better source of revenue for businesses and consumers who switch to clean energy options .

Bio: Claire spent four years working for environmental NGOs on climate change policy, and soon realised her heart lay in decarbonising the electricity sector. For the last nine years she has influenced policy makers, regulators and investors across Northern Europe to even the playing field for low-carbon technologies including energy storage, wind and demand-side flexibility. Prior to her three years at Flexitricity, she worked for Fortune 200 energy company, The AES Corporation. Claire recently completed her Executive MBA from Warwick Business School, writing her final dissertation on domestic heat flexibility.
