Flexitricity launches CHP service with Enviroenergy
Flexitricity’s revolutionary approach to Combined Heat and Power generation – already a major carbon reducing technology – was recognised in the 2007 Shell Springboard competition. We won the North heat and were runner-up in the national finals.
Now, in partnership with major District Heating operator Enviroenergy, we have been able to demonstrate that CHP can be responsive to the needs of the national electricity system, while simultaneously taking care of its all-important heat customers.
Enviroenergy’s London Road Heat Station in Nottingham supplies renewable heat and electricity to commercial, leisure and public buildings, and over 4000 homes, using extensive hot water and private wire networks. With no compromise on the quality of its core service, Enviroenergy has unlocked an additional revenue stream, and is actively reducing carbon emissions at both local and national level.
